Kounkaku is a private hot spring inn in Myoko, available exclusively to one group per day, offering a peaceful and intimate retreat surrounded by nature. Designed for comfort and relaxation, this single-storey property spans approximately 90 square metres and comfortably accommodates up to four guests, making it ideal for couples, families, or small groups seeking a quiet, restorative stay.

 

A standout feature of Kounkaku is its spacious natural hot spring bath, with a generous 7m³ bathtub filled with abundant onsen water. Retained in its original form from the former Kounkaku bath, it offers a sense of nostalgia while delivering deep relaxation. Guests can enjoy premium, skin-friendly amenities, including ReFa shower heads and Haru shampoo, for a soothing bathing experience.

 

The former outdoor bath area has been thoughtfully transformed into a large private terrace, perfect for cooling off in the evening or enjoying the snowy scenery during winter. Inside, comfort continues with custom-made semi-double flat beds crafted from Japanese cypress by Hinoki Works, known for their calming aroma and stress-reducing properties. Additional bedding features airweave mattresses and futons, ensuring high-quality sleep for every guest.

 

While meals are not provided, the property features a fully equipped kitchen, allowing you to dine at your own pace. Guests may also reserve dinner at a nearby inn or choose a curated dining plan at selected restaurants in Myoko City. For longer stays, amenities include Wi-Fi, washer and dryer, desks, reading lights, a projector, DVD player, and stereo system, making it suitable for both leisure and remote work.

 

Located just five minutes’ walk from Akakura Onsen Ski Resort, Kounkaku is perfectly positioned for skiing and snowboarding in winter, and trekking and sightseeing in warmer months. With minimal steps, spacious bathrooms, handrails, and a shower chair, the property is also well suited for elderly guests or post-recovery stays, offering a truly inclusive and relaxing onsen experience.
